As of 2026, the Hamilton Trans Health Coalition is officially ten years old. We are so proud of the work we have accomplished over the past decade to improve healthcare for trans people. However, as of this April, HTHC’s function and role will be changing. Our capacity will decrease significantly.

Why is this happening?

We have been operating through a series of project-based funding grants. While we are incredibly grateful for the work those grants have allowed us to do, we ultimately require core operational funding, which we do not have.

What does this mean?

HTHC’s public-facing presence will change. We will no longer be updating our social media consistently to share resources, programs, and research callouts.

Additionally, we will not be able to respond to requests for help finding gender-affirming care and other resources in a timely manner.

What is continuing?

HTHC will continue to operate as a coalition of community members and healthcare and social service providers who are dedicated to improving trans health in and around Hamilton.
